Local Elected Officials and Community Leaders Unite Behind Sarah Henry’s Campaign for HD38

Local elected officials and community leaders from across Florida are uniting behind Sarah Henry’s campaign for Florida House District 38. This support demonstrates the important nature of this battleground seat and points to the desire for new representation in the district.

“This legislative session has seen relentless attacks on local officials who know their communities best, decimating home rule and instituting dangerous preemption which takes control from local officials to provide for their community’s unique needs,” said Casselberry Commissioner Chad Albritton. He continued, “I know that Sarah Henry will fight back, ensuring our access to local decision making, clean water, strong public schools, and common sense gun safety. If you’re looking for a candidate who will never stop fighting for your rights to live a healthy, free, and fair life, Sarah Henry is your candidate.”

Oviedo City Councilmember Natalie Teuchert emphasized that “Sarah Henry is the advocate that Central Florida needs. She is determined to address real issues our communities face and has already done so with her work in nonprofits. She knows that protecting our way of life requires empowering local leaders. As an advocate for home rule, housing affordability solutions, and our rural boundary, I see no better choice than Sarah Henry for House District 38.”

Former House Rep. Joy Goff Marcil, who previously represented a significant portion of the redrawn district, said, “I am proud to endorse a candidate running to represent the same people of Seminole County who I was so honored to represent. Sarah Henry is smart and energetic and she will fight for Florida values and against special interests.”

“Sarah Henry will restore Florida values in the state legislature. She’ll do this by taking what makes Seminole County and Central Florida special and representing our community in the Florida legislature to protect the rights of women, invest in our schools, and take on the affordability crisis that is holding so many Florida families back,” said Brittany Nethers, former Chair of the Seminole County Democratic Executive Committee.

“Floridians deserve representation who will fight for their needs, even when that fight is tough,” said Janelle Perez, community leader and former candidate, State Senate District 38. “ I’m endorsing Sarah Henry because I know that’s the kind of person she is – focused on going to Tallahassee to represent each and every one of her constituents.”

Former House Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith reiterated that “Sarah Henry brought us a breath of fresh air with her campaign in 2022, and I know that she’s ready to represent the people of District 38. She’s experienced at standing up to powerful special interests, understands what is driving our community’s growth, and knows how to build a government that works for everybody.”

“I’m so proud of what is truly a community-driven campaign,” shared Sarah Henry. Henry added, “I’m ready to bring my non-profit experience and work as a community advocate to Tallahassee and fight for a Florida that is safe, healthy, and prosperous for all.”
